for their contributions and getting the Victorian period "just right"

"Meet Me in St. Louis is an enchanting musical about a simpler, less complicated time in America. Electric lights, ice cream cones, telephones in homes - the world at the turn of the last century was about to change, in some ways better and in some ways not. But the love the Smith Family has for one another endures, even if life's simpler pleasures do not. Circle Theater Players presents a very solid and utterly charming production of what is commonly known only as a movie musical. However, this production was anything BUT common with several standout performances by the women of the show: Mindi Schwab as Rose Smith, Claudia DeMartino as Esther Smith, and Jane Figueroa as Katie O'Downey. Capturing our hearts as well were Tootie and Agnes Smith, delightfully portrayed by Eliza Figueroa and Kelly Patnode. Kudos to the orchestra of one! - Marietta Mitchell and her amazing piano playing supported this large cast of 25 passionate performers, some of whom were making their community theater debuts. Finally the production values ably delivered by the set, costume, hair and makeup crews tied together this quaint offering of classic Americana with a very pretty bow. I am all smiles, and nostalgic, for the good old days." - Laura Andruski, TANYS Adjudicator
